About Victoria

Victoria Klaunig is a performer and teacher who has enjoyed a bicontinental career. Raised in
San Antonio by German parents, she is currently pursuing her Master’s in baroque violin at Indiana University, studying with Ingrid Matthews. Victoria previously earned her Bachelor’s degree in violin performance from the University of North Texas, studying with Dr. Felix Olschofka and Eunice Keem. She
discovered early music after hearing Rachel Podger perform, which inspired her to begin
studying baroque violin with Cynthia Roberts and play in the baroque orchestra at UNT.

Victoria has performed professionally with many period instrument ensembles including the
Dallas Bach Society, American Baroque Opera Company, Lumedia Musicworks, and in a side-by-side project with the Orchestra of the 18th Century.

Victoria has also attended several baroque summer courses including the Oberlin Baroque Performance Institute and the St. Andrews Summer Baroque Course, where she got to work with Rachel Podger herself. In 2021-22 she spent a year abroad, studying at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Ryo Terakado.

In addition to performing, Victoria has been teaching private and group lessons on both violin and
viola for the past six years at several private music schools in the DFW area and at various
schools in Denton ISD. When she is not playing Bach, Victoria enjoys cooking and hiking with
her boyfriend Destin and their dog Poppy.

Victoria enjoys teaching using the foundations of the Suzuki Method and is currently accepting students in Bloomington, Indiana.
